Aesthetic Online: summer beauty skincare, caudalie, avene, jurlique, vichy

We might be getting a little ahead of ourselves here, but somehow, we’re about to hit May and those summer travels are fast approaching. Even if you’re planning to spend the summer on homeland, chances are that at some point we’re going to be surprised by an Indian summer. Time for a little skincare pep talk and prep…

So you’ve finally found your ideal skincare regime. Your skin has never felt more silky soft, unblemished for the most part, and it is even hydrated. Things are lookin’ good. Enter the realms of sweat-slicked sheen and the inevitable city wide humidity.

The Caudalie Beauty Elixir took the beauty industry by storm last year – and for good reason. A French brand, the brains behind Caudalie know their stuff, and the Beauty Elixir is peppered with notes of rosemary and peppermint for a seriously refreshing spritz. Alongside that, it includes grape, orange blossom, rose and organic balm mint to smooth the skin, tighten pores and add radiance. Mist on before moisturiser and throw in your handbag for on-the-go spritzes.

A lesser known choice from Caudalie is the Grape Water. For those who aren’t a fan of the peppermint scent of the classic Beauty Elixir, this is a little more fruity and shy on the nose. The only drawback? It comes in one size, and one size only. One for the deskside and bedside, we think.

On the High Street, Avène’s Thermal Water Spray is an essential soothing care choice. As well as refreshing the skin and adding moisture back where it’s needed, the Thermal Water Spray has a comforting and refreshing action to complete the skincare routine, and is perfect for on-the-go use. Vichy’s Therma Spa Water is a similar choice, although a little more wet on application. Enriched with more than fifteen beneficial minerals, it is a bestseller of their facial skincare line and we love it a l-o-t.

Finally, our most coveted elixir is Jurlique’s Purely Bright Mist. A unique formulation of daisy, calendula, witch hazel and self-heal extracts, the Purely Bright Mist restores, brightens and hydrates the skin, locking in moisture and restoring radiance. Moreover, Jurlique’s unique VitabrightKX formula helps to reduce the appearance of skin discolouration or hyperpigmentation. Mist all over the face and décolletage whenever needed.
