Today when my alarm went off for the fourth time (yep, that Snooze button gets a lot of love!) and I very reluctantly started getting ready for the day, I was pleasantly surprised by sunlight. Or at least some sort of natural light. At 7am. Gone are the dark, dark mornings of the depths of the winter, because the spring is finally rearing its’ pretty head, and with that comes a world of springtime beauty.

For the perfect spring beauty look, I’ve got my everyday routine to a tee. Think flushed pink cheeks, a bitten lip, ‘just done’ brows and a lashing of definition to the eyes.

Base-wise, in keeping with the fresh look, a BB cream is our best friend. Swipe a light layer of Benefit’s POREfessional primer on underneath if you tend to lean on the oily skinned side, and then warm some of the Missha Perfect Cover BB cream in your fingertips to apply all over. This ‘traditional’ Korean BB cream is lovely and light – perfect for a medium coverage with a beautiful dewy finish.

At Aesthetic, the Elizabeth Arden Gel Eyeliner is our all-year favourite. Packaged in a neat glass pot and with an accompanying eyeliner brush that packs more than its fair share of use, dot this between the lashes on the upper lash line, feathering it out just so with an ELF smudge brush for barely done eyes. Finish with a few lashings of Benefit’s They’re Real mascara.

On the cheeks, dab a few pinches of Look Beauty’s blush in Pinch. A cool-toned pink, this blush promises a healthy, girlish glow on the face, ideal for springtime fancies. Finally to finish the classic springtime beauty look, we’re loving Rimmel’s 1000 Kisses lip tint in Faithful Rose. Long-lasting and sweetly perfect in a light rose pink, this can be used as base for a brighter pink lip. Press a bolder lipstick into the lips with your finger for a just bitten look.
