Aptly entitled ‘Working Girl’, Ashish’s AW13 collection adopted a business-worthy ethic paired with stunning, soft silhouettes and hi-vis injections of colour on an otherwise muted palette – just the way we like it at Aesthetic.
Neon yellow, yes hi-vis jacket style, opened the show to a dramatic flourish, setting the scene for a back-to-work show. Shades of midnight black, slouchy shapes more akin to those seen at NYFW, speckles of sparkles and luxurious fringed overwear combined for an exciting collection that is perfectly wearable.
‘Working Girl’ takes the wardrobe from penthouse to pavement, and then all the way back again, featuring traffic stopping hair, deep pockets ‘for spanners and wrenches’ (but probably just for your phone and favourite lipstick. The collection showcased sequinned dogtooth jumpsuits, plaid tops with perfectly cut trouser suits, patchworth worthy separates, quirky lettered quips and an overall greycast palette for a decidedly grunge girl inspired RTW range for AW13.
Pass the plaid, ladies. I’m a Working Girl grunge convert.
