Autumn is by far my favourite season so when the AW shows roll around, I’m always eagerly awaiting the influx of images showcasing the incoming trends. The New York shows are always a highlight for me. The simple, clean and urbanite aesthetics of the designers that show there continuously captivate me. In the past few days, there have been two standout shows for me. Namely Tibi – the all American brand which manages to capture my heart every season. This season is about layered monochromatic seperates, splashes of cobalt and khaki with a good print thrown in. Tibi’s Amy Smilovic makes it ok for us to crave the ease of sports luxe, with that added city flair obviously.

Rachel Zoe, the uber stylist turned reality starlet turned fashion designer, also offered a delightful treat for the senses with her latest collection. I loved the mix of brown-y hues, rich greens and glittering metallics. A perfect ensemble for any autumnal day. As well as the usual boho-Zoe stamp, I think this collection offered a more grown up, and dare I say, English heritage vibe. A faultless amalgamation, which would not look a-miss gracing the wardrobes of either Kate – Moss and Middleton. Definitely another winner from the catwalks of the Lincoln Centre.

Aisling Megan is Aesthetic’s very own flame haired stylist and associate fashion ed. When she’s not organising shoots for the mag, you will find her either in Westfield or in the fashion cupboards of other notable British publications. With a penchant for all things print, it’s hard to come by a patterned trouser she didn’t love – check out her ever-growing collection over at Fash-ling.com.
